Glass Wall Partitions

Glass walled rooms radiate more space compared to traditional block walled rooms. Adding a glass wall to your facility can allow you to create brighter interiors and exploit nearby natural light sources. They add a modern feel and look to a building and can be fitted new or retrospectively to most contemporary structures. Glass is a superb material that balances out functionality and durability with a natural attractiveness. Glass walls offer an alternative walling or partition solution in your sports and educational facilities and provide safe viewing areas for parents and coaches where physical protection is needed. As well as fitting Ellis Pearson glass walls to squash courts we have also fitted them to sports halls. We share two excellent examples for you here. The top example is a dividing wall between playing area and public access areas at the Bert Williams Leisure Centre in Bilston. The lower example is a magnificent 54 metre free standing partition wall that Courtcraft erected in the York Sports Arena.

York Sport Arena: 54m Freestanding glass wall

Courtcraft were proud to install a 54 metre long freestanding glass wall along the full length of the York Sport Arena. We were a partner constructor to RUBB Building Systems. Rubb Buildings Ltd was selected to design, manufacture and construct a 40m wide x 55m long steel and fabric clad Sport Arena for the University of York. Courtcraft were tasked with constructing a dividing glass partition between the playing area and the viewing walkway.

Photographs are reproduced here with the kind support of RUBB Building Systems. The photographs (copyright RUBB) were taken as part of The Roses Tournament, an annual sports competition between the University of York and Lancaster University. It is organised by their respective Students’ Unions, YUSU and LUSU and takes its name from the 15th Century civil war, The Wars of the Roses, between the House of Lancaster and the House of York.
