St Georges Barracks

Courtcraft was selected by Amey Defence to go and replace a tired Tarkett sports hall floor that had been badly damaged through heavy and incorrect use at the MOD Base St Georges Barracks. Following a rip-up and removal of the old floor, Courtcraft flooring installers laid 458m2 of Junckers Ash variation 22mm solid board on 57mm Blubat battens. The floor installation was completed without having to remove all the PT gym equipment. Our sports court line marking was completed by our partners at MJ Courtmarkers. We think the Junckers Ash board in both the natural and artificial lights look stunning.

Court Repair & Refurbishment Services

Squash courts, like most things, eventually wear out. Some squash court plasters don’t stand up to the constant pounding of balls and rackets, which means repeated impacts can turn tiny pin-holes into gaping craters. Floors need regular sanding to provide the correct grip and older floor types with random-length boards can suffer from frequent board breakages.

Courtcraft can offer a one off quote to refurbish the courts and get them back to looking and playing like new or we offer flexible 3 – 5 year squash court maintenance plans which offer a fixed price cost for servicing & maintaining the courts for the duration of the pre-agreed maintenance plan.

Squash Court Maintenance

Glass Walls & Doors

90% of new squash courts have glass-back walls and the vast majority of those are by Ellis Pearson – the world’s leading brand. Ellis Pearson Glasswalls are available in a choice of configurations. Freestanding types, which are supported by glass-fins and fixed-head types (Clubwalls), which are supported by posts and then fixed to structural beams or lintels.

Ellis Pearson Glasswalls are constructed from 12mm toughened glass, in accordance with stringent safety standards and recommended building codes of practice.

Ellis Pearson Glasswalls are approved by the World Squash Federation and are backed by a 10 year guarantee.

Innov8 Squash Court Flooring

The hardwood flooring products we use at Courtcraft provide the right amount of surface texture to provide good traction for squash players. A floor installed by Courtcraft has excellent shock absorption, resilience to wear and tear, has dynamic ball responses and are a uniform light colour to sight the ball properly in play. At Courtcraft, we primarily use Junckers’ Beech SylvaSquash floorboard in our Squash Court Installations but we also install Boen engineered squash floors too. Beech has excellent tensile strength, a uniform structure and a light white/reddish sapwood. In order to provide the right level of friction required by the sport, the floorboard is left unsealed and has a slightly roughened surface.

The photographs here are representative of the colour, natural variations between timber batches occur. We recommend viewing a physical sample to see the colour and qualities of the SylvaSquash flooring. Courtcraft squash court floors comply with the latest European performance standard EN 14904-A4.

The flooring we install in an Innov8 Squash Court can be easily maintained by us at Courtcraft. Deep cleaning, full floor sanding and new line marking can be regulalry done to maintain your court in optimal playing condition. With regular maintenance provided by Courtcraft your squash court floor will have an extended warranty* for extra peace of mind.

Solid Junckers SylvaSquash beech floors are approved by the World Squash Federation and England Squash.

Squash Court Maintenance & Refurbishment

Squash Court Maintenance Specialists

Squash courts eventually show signs of wear and tear after a seasons play. For example plastered squash court walls surfaces degrade from the constant pounding of balls and rackets. The repeated impacts can turn tiny pin-holes in the top coat plaster into larger craters which will need filling. Panel system walls accumulate rubber from the squash balls meaning the walls will need to be repainted. Floors accumulate dirt and sweat and will need regular fine sanding to provide the correct grip. Older squash floors may succumb to board breakages which will need repairing so that they do not create safety hazards for players. Glass walls and doors must be serviced every year to ensure all bolts and fittings are tight, otherwise it will comprimise the safety properties of the wall.  Furthermore, even well-maintained floors need replacing sooner or later, as regular sanding inevitably wears them out. This creates an adverse effect on quality of play and ultimately on your revenue.

The Optimal Playing Surface For Squash

All of our squash court flooring systems provide the optimal playing surface for squash. The products we use at Courtcraft provide the right amount of surface texture to provide good traction for a fast-paced sport, excellent shock absorption, resilience & ball response and a uniform light colour to sight the ball properly in play. Courtcraft squash court floors comply with the latest European performance standard EN 14904. Junckers Beech Sylvasquash

At Courtcraft, we primarily use Junckers’ Beech SylvaSquash floorboard, as it offers a high degree of friction. This is an essential quality when playing squash and is necessary for any form of fast-moving sport. In order to provide the high level of friction required by the sport, the floorboard is unsealed and has a slightly roughened surface, while still keeping risk of injury to an absolute minimum.
